Michael it seems like you have become soft on Trump. I feel like he is the reason we are losing faith in our government and he is the one who is playing on our fears and dividing this country.

Howard's avatar

Trump sowed all the distrust and abuse. Now his sycophants are singing for him like Michael

Jennifer Kass's avatar

Exactly. He is the one that started in on the "rigged" elections when he thought he would be the one losing. Notice how elections are only problematic when Republicans lose.

Barbara Ann's avatar

Fact: when he wins the elections are legitimate; when he loses the elections are rigged. He’s such a whiny little crybaby that throws tantrums when he doesn’t get his way.

Linda Fabre's avatar

There was clearly an attempt to interfere in the 2020 election, and it was Trump doing it in real time. ‘Find me 11,780 votes’. Anything after that is just noise. I’ll stick with the evidence that’s irrefutable. China having voter data is no worse than Trump goons demanding the same data from states and literally taking it from Georgia. Nothing good can come out of that. I have to present my drivers license when I vote (Texas). That same drivers license gets me through security at the airport, allows me to cash checks, and is offered to law enforcement when they pull me over for a brake light that’s out. That drivers license has served as proof of who I am in every situation that requires confirmation of my identity. Trump is doing what he has always done, lie, cheat and steal. Michael, you are beginning to sound like his fixer again.

Dawn Cali's avatar

Linda, examination of released information where Trump charges China, if you look closely it is his Friend Putin and it seems to indicate he asked for this help! Watch the reports on this as I am sure they will be coming out today.

Reality, many countries try to interfere with our elections in various ways. Most common is social media. But so does America.

No doubt that blackmail that Putin has on Trump is significant, huh?

Deep State is the Trump Regime

Americans deserve better.

Voter ID needs to be stricter. This I will agree with. I speak from experience as an election Democratic Coordinator. I would like to see valid ID required in my state before the voter is issued their ballot. However, how dare he blame his 2020 loss on voter fraud. He lost because Biden was the better choice. He is putting so much doubt into the heads of people that they may stay home during the midterm elections and say why bother! Don’t fall for that. He is intimidating us. Lift up your voice in November and exercise your right and get out there, make sure you are registered and vote. As far as our information being out there, anyone who doesn’t believe that is true is probably still waiting for the tooth fairy. We didn’t need him ranting and raving to tell us that. His threats about pulling the broadcasting license of the stations who refused to air him are the words of a dictator. I don’t care what you say Michael, he is not the man you knew years ago. We all see the deteriorating daily. He is getting worse each day.

Howard's avatar

Exactly - just keep repeating the lies until people believe it

Roz's avatar

The question remains, what is valid ID? The SAVE Act places too many burdens on many citizens to prove their right to vote. If I didn’t have a passport, I would have to engage counsel to have my name changed legally because my birth certificate does not match my marriage certificate which does not match my social security card (which matches my Real ID driver’s license and my passport).

Michelle Landa's avatar

No that is going way too far. In NY we are not permitted to ask for a drivers license. That is ludicrous. A picture ID is what we are all asking for. Albany has refused us.this drives us crazy. We do however have many checks if we are doubtful of a voter’s identity or their registration.

Roz's avatar

I’m just describing my dilemma under the SAVE Act he’s pushing. Even my marriage certificate is just my copy. I would have to pay for a certified copy from the county. I would also need to get a certified copy of my birth certificate as I have the old black copy they provided back in the day!

Michelle Landa's avatar

That is completely absurd. He is a loon to even propose such craziness.

Jennifer Kass's avatar

I would agree with you if evidence shows that there was rampant voter fraud in this country. Every single study that has been done shows that it is simply not an issue. I just Googled for some statistics, and here are two I found right off the bat:

In the highly contested state of Pennsylvania, Heritage data goes back 30 years and covers 32 elections with over 100 million votes cast and found only 39 cases of voter fraud.

The percentage of fraudulent votes in Arizona over the last 25 years of elections was a minuscule .0000845%, and no election outcome in the U.S. has ever been altered by ballot fraud.

Why then are we worrying about people providing an ID when voting? How about instead we focus our attention on the Republicans who are committing voter fraud by their ridiculous gerrymandering and throwing Democratic voters off the voting rolls? They are committing voter fraud in plain sight, and we're sitting here worrying about those 39 cases of voter fraud out of 100 million votes in 32 elections.

Dawn Cali's avatar

Michelle, Voter ID of course should be made better. But you set up a program and roll it out over many years, after an Election. With an eye to finding a way to assist lower income so they can meet the requirements.

Americans deserve better.

Michelle Landa's avatar

There was no voter fraud in NY. We just want a photo ID when they get their ballot. For some unknown reason Albany made that illegal. The entire BOE is baffled by this. It also helps us when checking in if a father and son or mother and daughter living at the same address come in to vote. If the poll worker isn’t careful I go through hell trying to correct it.

Howard's avatar

This article has so much bullshit in it I would not know where to begin. You are truly doing his bidding again. Good luck

Dawn Cali's avatar

Howard, perhaps "no luck!"

Americans deserve better.

Roz's avatar

Michael, it’s obvious that you are back in Trump’s good graces. But don’t forget that the crisis in confidence has been brought about by Trump and his negotiating style you explained to us over and over. His lack of cultural intelligence, however, has gotten us into a war we cannot win and world standing from which we cannot extract ourselves.

Diane Stewart's avatar

I am having a very difficult time trusting you, Michael, because I feel you have a very narrow view, almost like you’re wearing “blinders.”

Barbara Ann's avatar

Evidently, Diane, it appears you’re not allowed to disagree.

Dana's avatar

Everyone is allowed to their own opinion. You just can't try to force feed your own narrative to someone else and not expect a rebuttal. But maybe that's exactly what you are looking for. Rage baiting to get your fix. You have narrow views and blnders on. Sometimes people project themselves onto others.

Barbara Ann's avatar

I take offense to your assessment of me, since you don’t even know me. And if you think that of me, why do you subscribe to me? If everyone is allowed their opinion, why tell her to look in the mirror? She didn’t insult him or curse him out like many others (wrongly) did, she gave her opinion. Trust me, if it were insulting or offensive, Michael would have swooped in hours ago and let her have it.

Diane Stewart's avatar

Barbara Ann, honestly, I have not replied to her because I am exhausted.

Barbara Ann's avatar

I just blocked her - stupid clown, it’ll never happen he’s married LOL!

Ruth A's avatar

Why so rude? Maybe the lady just likes MC’s ideas. Americans are always saying “I love you” to Michael. WTF I don’t love him and he doesn’t love me. I don’t know him from Adam’s house cat. I love ideas, and the content of minds.

Dana's avatar

Why are you so angry? Because I think she needs to follow her own advice? You want to give your own opinion here, but become agitated when someone disagrees. Why do you take everything so personally?

Barbara Ann's avatar

Angry? Hon you’ll know when I’m angry. You really need help.

Diane Stewart's avatar

She’s totally overreacting!!

That’s unreal.

Dana's avatar

Look in the mirror when you say that Diane.

Susan Bender's avatar

I have unsubscribed. It is the only form of protest I have against this looney idea that voter fraud changed an election. Multiple investigations of voter fraud have revealed nothing of significance. Trump's speech sounded like the word salads of the psych patients I spent a semester with in college.

Dawn Cali's avatar

Susan, but I would like to see if Musk had any ability to manipulate any of the key counties for Trump in 2024 as his "Baby Mom" recently discussed.

Americans deserve better

The Cud's avatar

So Michael, who won the election? I have watched you since your masterful and historical exposing of Trumps crimes, and read about your years as his fixer. Also the recent NYT article about a reconciliation. Also your powerful description of being in solitary confinement. Maybe in all your years you saw some little spark, but what I see is that your relationship with him was always one-sided. You gave he took. You’ve said it yourself. He doesn’t give a rat’s ass about you, never did, never will. Don’t give him another molecule of your soul. I’m out.

Susan Hassinger's avatar

It seems to me that from the beginning of Trump crying that he didn't win in 2020 because everything was rigged and illegal ...he has always said that if you say something enough people will believe it that's what he tries to do with all his lies over and over again it was rigged I should have won. Elon musk admits that he rigged some of the voting for Trump to get in in 2024.

Frankly everything he has done with this war, his health or lack of health doesn't make him fit to remain in office tomorrow let alone in 2028.

Frankly I hope someone or Karma ,takes him out sooner rather than later and if he wants to be a jerk and fool around with Iran I hope they get him...he doesn't deserve anything from America he has caused us nothing but aggravation and lack of all the things we used to have and we're proud of.

He is divided our country, which is very upsetting and disheartening.

Barbara Ann's avatar

👆🏻This - this says it all.

Barbara Ann's avatar

I don’t even know what to say. Suffice it to say we are at an unnecessary war with Iran (but to be clear I do agree 100% they should never have nuclear bombs ) and he comes on television talking about an election that happened six years ago. He is a fraud, a liar, a cheat, and I’m sorry and all-around piece of shit like the rest of his family. I don’t care who knows him for how long, he is a garbage dump and he has done nothing but divide the country to the point that I’m wondering, can we return? Anyone who supports him and his ridiculous ideology needs their head examined.

Michelle Landa's avatar

You have said it all. I’m so disgusted with all of this, but I’ll be damned if it will interfere with my midterm vote.

Barbara Ann's avatar

My grandmother of blessed memory immigrated here from Scotland. One of the many things she told me about what’s so great about this country is I get to have a voice and I get to vote and told me that is one of the most important contributions that I can make. When I turned 18 while all of my friends were running to get their drivers license my first thing was registering to vote.

Barbara Ann's avatar

And I’ll be damned if some demented orange psycho is going to try to take that away from me.

Skip Day's avatar

“If there can be no trust, there can be no greatness.”

Was last nights speech laced with truth? Many left and center creators streamed the speech in real time and kept track of the lies your president told. Astonishing lack of truth and therefore no trust. Then there can be no greatness. You streaming live and noting every truth he told would have been amazing. Despite the studies and legal outcomes, you are going to read the document dump of election interference? What outcome do you anticipate? Documentary evidence that your boss won the election?! Or evidence he lost and you would stay compliant and quietly tell him he won? As an employee of his (he was the one who had to approve your radio show) are you allowed to say he lost the election?

Dana-this isn’t rage baiting. I don’t want clicks, likes, reposts. I simply ask questions to let others know they can and should also.

Michael Cohen's avatar

Skip….my Substack isn’t solely about Trump. It’s about what everyone, you included, should acknowledge that our electoral system needs an update. What I find comical is your belief that you think you know me and have the right to opine simply because you think so. Glad you think so highly of yourself.

Skip Day's avatar

You are a public figure. You have been on every network and plenty of YouTube videos. I know you from your books, testimony, public statements and everything you have shared on Substack. We know what restaurants you eat at, your medical issues, your one favorite alcohol drink and other details you have shared. Beyond that public side, I don’t know you. Your statements of fact are frequently misdirection. Your truth very subtly changes. I notice. I comment. Even your obfuscation of electoral system update is an issue you’ve never adequately put forth but sounds good in your response. Congratulations on your radio show. My opinion is you will flourish there.

Michael Cohen's avatar

Wish you and your opinions all the best.

Barbara Ann's avatar

I blocked her; I have no time for her idiocy.

Dana's avatar

More like accusatory and smidge of hostility in your questions then just inquiries, Skip. You may just be plain and simple raging. Why? Why are you so angry at MC?

Skip Day's avatar

I lived in the upper east side of manhattan long enough to keep my directness and sarcasm. (Probably near cohen. Can you believe he still lives in a trump building and regularly sees the other tenants—Ivanka and Jared!) He was excoriated on a Substack today and he will be moving every supporter to his radio show. Substack served its purpose. I simply do not have liars in my personal life and don’t support someone who intentionally deceives. Cohen very smartly manipulates the truth. Once I saw that, his bigger con became obvious.

Dana's avatar

But you can't see past Lev 🤔. Good luck with that. Idk know y you waste your time here if that is true. Stop wasting your energy attempting to tear someone down. Btw. Sarcasm is a Hallmark of narcissistic behavior.

Michael Cohen's avatar

Skip can’t tear anyone down. Just another person with an opinion

Skip Day's avatar

Not trying to tear you down. Sharing my opinion and facts with others who are disillusioned by you and your delusional truth.

Skip Day's avatar

I don’t watch Lev. I’m waiting for the subscription to expire. I subscribed to him only bc he was on a show with Michael. I’m not trying to tear someone down. I present questions for other subscribers to consider. I wasted my time defending cohen. He’s dead on Substack and used us for his own ends. I doubt he even reads comments. Wait, he deleted an entire thread of mine so maybe he does. Thanks for the diagnosis! Now I know, and knowing is half the battle!

Dawn Cali's avatar

Dana,

Come up with facts as to why you think Lev or someone else is a bad choice?

What is it with you and Cohen?

Questioning someone is not tearing them down.

Americans deserve better.

Dawn Cali's avatar

Dana,

Wake up!

Americans deserve better.

Barbara Ann's avatar

Another thing, Trump one said he didn’t want to be another Herbert Hoover. Well guess what buddy, you’re past Hoover and you will go down in history as the worst president the United States ever had. I’m pretty sure Nixon is feeling pretty good to have lost that title. Also, as Trump is failing, and when he goes down, he will not go alone he will take all with him. Something to keep in mind.

Linda's avatar

Has anyone checked him for rabies? Asking for a friend.

Michael, we have had free and fair elections for centuries. No election has ever been this scrutinized until Donald ran and lost in 2020. He still won’t accept his loss and makes false claims. How do we know the documents released weren’t manufactured to support false claims? Trump has a team that would do it for him. There has always been some voter fraud but not enough to change the election results. Trump’s attorneys challenged the results and ballots were recounted by hand and in some cases more than once. Trump still lost the 2020 election. If the election was interfered with as they claim, shouldn’t we investigate 2016 and 2024??? What about all the other false claims Trump made like “we were a dead country”. “Now we are the hottest country”. And don’t you think the election system was studied before it was implemented? You surely don’t think we just implemented a system without testing it first to ensure we follow our election laws: I’m sure it is not perfect as we are not perfect. There is no way the computers can be hacked unless people come onsite and do it. They are not hooked up to the internet in any way. They are not on a network. The computers are programmed with the questions to ask voters, accept the answers and tabulate the votes. There is no way that China or any other Country can get their hands on our votes. Trump’s speech was nothing but lies. Voter integrity after decades and centuries has not been questioned until now. I wonder why that is?????

Donald Trump: 'I just want to find 11,780 votes’

https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-us-canada-55524676

https://www.npr.org/2021/01/04/953146819/in-a-recorded-call-trump-pushed-official-to-overturn-georgia-vote

Voter ID becomes a distraction from Trump's actions after the 2020 election, which he lost. Obviously, we need to have election integrity. The SAVE Act, which the President stated must be passed right away, will disenfranchise many voters.

https://democrats-cha.house.gov/sites/evo-subsites/democrats-cha.house.gov/files/evo-media-document/SAVE%20Act%20Section-by-Section_BRANDED.pdf

The bill has passed in the House, but has stalled in the Senate. The above link details what will occur if it does pass. There is only one conclusion. The SAVE Act will be weaponized, as it seems everything is, against poor people, married women, and disabled persons (who avail themselves of mail-in ballots), to name a few. The first quote at the top, IMO, is the biggest interference in our free and fair elections. Before we blame every country in the world for our NON-fraudulent elections, let's look at ourselves and correct the problems from within. To get back to Michael's post, I believe that Americans have lost trust in the government (if they are like me, they lost trust during Watergate), and confidence, which you correctly state must be earned, hasn't been. In the meantime, we must all keep track of this and make sure that we are registered to vote. If the bill passes, we must get the documentation that will be necessary to ensure our eligibility to vote. It is imperative to vote in the midterms and to vote blue. Yes, and if we are lucky enough to flip the House and the Senate, we must make sure the newly elected officials don't go on a revenge binge. They need to do their jobs by repealing the idiotic things that have become laws, and concentrate on moving forward.

Dawn Cali's avatar

Joanne, I agree, no more Revenge.

There must be Accountability/Transparency/Investigations/Prosecutions. Processes must be set up to guard against future Abuses. If that is not done, this will happen again.

Americans deserve better.

Mike Tonge's avatar

The erosion of trust is the point. Trump, the quintessential demagogue, again spreading fear and distrust and promoting himself as the only one who can save us. I'm sick of this guy's act and it's time for it to end. Vote like our lives depend on it.
