"Assassination Nation"
America’s deadliest contagion isn’t spreading through coughs or bloodstreams, but through rage, political obsession, and hatred turning presidents, bystanders, and democracy into targets.
There is a real epidemic running through America right now, and it’s not COVID, hantavirus, or Ebola. It’s something far more dangerous because it infects the mind before it destroys the body. It’s hate. The kind of blind, irrational, brain-rotting hatred that convinces people the answer to political disagreement is a bullet instead of a ballot. We spent years terrified of invisible viruses spreading through the air while ignoring the far deadlier infection spreading through our culture, our politics, and our social media feeds. And unlike a pandemic, this disease doesn’t just attack the body; it destroys judgment, morality, and basic humanity. It turns political opponents into enemies, enemies into monsters, and monsters into targets.
And before the outrage machine revs itself into overdrive, let me say something that apparently has become controversial in modern America: attempting to assassinate the president of the United States is wrong. Full stop. No disclaimer needed. No partisan asterisk attached.
Yes, Donald Trump is polarizing. Politics itself is polarizing. Trump’s rhetoric at rallies can hit like gasoline thrown onto an already raging fire. Even his walk to Marine One somehow turns into political theater complete with shouted questions, insults, applause, and social media breakdowns before the rotor blades even finish spinning. That’s the reality of modern America. Everybody’s angry. Everybody’s armed with an opinion. And everybody thinks the other side is destroying the country.
Fine. Vote accordingly.
But these nonstop assassination attempts and violent incidents surrounding this president have to stop before this nation crosses a line it cannot uncross.
This weekend’s terrifying shooting near the White House was yet another reminder that America is balancing on the edge of political insanity. According to reports, 21 year old Nasire Best opened fire near a White House security checkpoint before Secret Service agents returned fire and killed him. Another innocent bystander was struck during the chaos. Journalists were ordered to seek shelter. Medical kits and surgical gloves littered the pavement while evidence markers covered the sidewalk outside the White House.
Read that again slowly.
The sidewalk outside the White House looked like a war zone.
And somehow, we’re becoming numb to it.
What’s even more alarming is that this was reportedly the third gun related incident involving the president in the past month alone. Third. Imagine saying that sentence about any other period in modern American history. We would’ve treated it as a national emergency. Instead, people process it for six minutes between YouTube videos and then move on to arguing about polls and hashtags.
That numbness should scare the hell out of all of us.
According to court records, the alleged shooter had previously attempted to enter a White House checkpoint, claimed he was Jesus Christ, and violated orders to stay away from the area. That alone tells you something larger is broken in this country. We are watching a collision between untreated mental instability, political rage, internet radicalization, and a culture addicted to outrage.
It’s a dangerous cocktail.
And here’s the part too many people conveniently ignore: when bullets start flying near a president, the president usually isn’t the only person in danger. Secret Service agents. Police officers. Journalists. Rally attendees. Tourists. Staffers. Innocent bystanders just trying to get through the day without ending up on the evening news. One woman was reportedly struck during this latest incident, and investigators still don’t even know whose bullet hit her.
Imagine taking a family trip to Washington and ending up caught in political crossfire because some unhinged individual decided he was starring in his own revolutionary fantasy.
This isn’t activism. It isn’t patriotism. It’s sickness.
And America keeps feeding it.
Cable news profits from outrage because calm doesn’t sell advertising. Social media algorithms reward fury because anger drives engagement. Politicians on both sides have learned that fear mobilizes voters faster than hope ever could. So every day Americans are told the other side isn’t merely wrong; they’re evil. They’re traitors. They’re existential threats. Eventually, unstable people stop hearing metaphor and start hearing mission orders.
History warns us where this road leads. Political violence never stays isolated. Once a society normalizes the idea that force is an acceptable response to elections or ideology, the violence spreads like wildfire. Democracies don’t usually collapse overnight. They decay slowly while citizens become desensitized to chaos they once would’ve found horrifying.
And perhaps the darkest irony of all is this: the people attempting these attacks almost always believe they’re saving the country. Hate convinces disturbed minds that murder is morality. That’s what makes this moment so dangerous. Not simply the existence of political division, but the growing belief that opponents are no longer fellow Americans deserving debate, but enemies deserving elimination.
We have lost the ability to disagree without dehumanizing.
You can despise Trump’s policies. You can protest him every day of the week. You can criticize every speech, every rally, every late-night Truth Social rant typed in all caps like your uncle discovering Facebook after two bourbons. That’s democracy. That’s America.
But the second political frustration transforms into assassination fantasies, bullets, or bloodshed, we are no longer defending democracy.
We are destroying it.
And trust me, once political violence becomes normalized, it doesn’t care whether you wear a MAGA hat, wave an Obama flag, or swear allegiance to whatever movement comes next.
Chaos eventually comes for everyone.

Yeah, I know; you’re tired. This shit is exhausting.
Guess what? Me too.
But I’ve spent the last 8 years throwing punches in the dark so truth could get a little daylight. And now I’m asking you to step into the ring with me.
Because if you’re still reading this, you already get it:
This isn’t just a newsletter. It’s a rally cry. A war drum. A line in the sand.
We are not passive observers of the downfall. We are the resistance. We call out the liars. We drag corruption by the collar into the sunlight. We say the quiet parts out loud; and we don’t flinch.
But here’s the truth: I can’t do this solo. Not anymore.
The storm is already here. We are standing in it. And it’s wearing stars and stripes like camouflage, preaching “freedom” while it sells fascism at retail.
So let me ask you:
Are. You. In?
Because this is not a scroll-and-forget read. This is a living, breathing, fire-breathing movement; and movements don’t move unless you do.
We need to be louder than spin, tougher than propaganda, and impossible to gaslight.
That takes more than clicks. More than likes.
It takes skin in the game.
So if you believe truth matters; if you’re sick of the bullshit, if you’re ready to stop screaming into the algorithm and start pushing back with purpose, this is your next step.
HERE’S HOW YOU PUT YOUR FOOT ON THE GAS:
Become a paid subscriber. Fund fearless, unfiltered journalism that hits back.
Share this with the loudest people you know; the ones who never sit down and shut up.
Build the community. Amplify the message. Be the damn megaphone.
And yeah; Founding Members? The first 240 of you will get a signed, numbered, limited-edition Substack version of Revenge. That’s not just a collector’s item. That’s receipts. Proof you didn’t sit this one out.
But let’s be clear:
This isn’t about a book.
It’s about backbone.
It’s about calling out the gaslighters and refusing to be played.
It’s about locking arms and saying, “Not. On. Our. Watch.”
You want to make a difference?
Then make it; right now.
Because if we don’t fight for truth, no one will.
But if we fight together?
They can’t drown us out.
Let’s be so loud, they wish we were just angry tweets.
Let’s be unshakable.
Unignorable.
Un-fucking-breakable.
Let’s go!

there's a dangerous both-sides-ness to this piece. I agree that calls to violence are never acceptable, but why isn't it ok to call Drümpf a traitor given he engineered a violent insurrection to prevent the peaceful & democratic transfer of power? sometimes we have to call out Evil where we find it. cuz we all know which side of the divide most promotes the idea that opponents are enemies deserving death: the only one where those ideas come directly from the top. imho.
Along with all the other comments- let’s not forget what is happening at our Supreme Court. Our Constitution no longer protects “We the People “. Our voting rights are being destroyed.
