It is perfectly reasonable for Kathy Hochul to look into the legality & fairness of the prediction market while attending to other needs & concerns of New Yorkers. What is not reasonable is this administration’s attention & funding of vanity projects, grifting, vindictive prosecutions, frivolous lawsuits, tariffs, increased ICE funding & more to the detriment of the American people who are struggling to eke out a living in this outrageous economy. People are suffering & dying because they cannot afford food, housing, gas & healthcare.
As far as I am concerned, politics is & should be a “social experiment”, especially if that means bringing change, improving social programs and laws, & returning to a true democracy that works for the American people in every way.

I really believe there are enough good centrist candidates out there all over the country that can power through. The DSA candidates who win need to coalesce with the rest of the party. What plays well in NYC won't in Iowa and vice versa. But, as you said, this is not a normal election, and the usual playbook is out the window. Fascism needs to be stopped and the dictator and his cronies have to go. I think there are enough independent voters who see this, but you can't count on it so you have to stay in the fight.
The beauty of a progressive is their message is tailored to the people who elected him. NYC playbook works there but it isn’t the same in individual state districts. There will be some coalescing, that’s normal. But also remember the middle independent centrist position has moved to the right.
