Inside the Oval Office inferno, Trump screams, Hegseth stumbles, and the Caribbean strikes ignite a whirlwind of chaos, stupidity, and scandal the country can’t stop watching.
you are such a good writer to boil everything down with sarcasm and facts and prediction. I keep hoping the compiling of all these outrageous and unlawful situations can get rid of him - but yet he keeps moving forward. Keep pressing, Michael, and keep pushing us to share the information and facts. my "glass' continue to get back to half full with these incidents to help some of those who are MAGA (Trump actually) to finally see the light of this stupidity and incompetent leader of the US.
Favorite line of this article: "f you close your eyes, you can imagine Trump pacing the Oval like a Roomba that accidentally swallowed a hornet:“Fix it, Pete! Make it go away! Say it was rogue waves, rogue winds, rogue dolphins; I don’t care. Just fix it!”
Very well stated. The way you are able to draw lines of how Trump will react based on your years with him is very enlightening. The Admiral should not have followed that order, and unfortunately he knows it. He, unfortunately, was stuck between the proverbial rock and a hard place. The other thing is that a true dictator would not hide from this. He would come out and stand behind the action and claim that anyone who disagrees will be beheaded. Trump is a coward, a dictator-wannabe. But he never has the balls to forceably see things through...he hides, he blames, he deflects.
Interesting as to how fast Brave Pete threw the Admiral under that Bus. Kegstand was all in control, until there was controversy. Now, Kegstand, who claimed HE was the one who could actually "pull the trigger", says there was "war fog"? He needs to spend less time in his makeup room and more time working on his story.
Unfortunately today I didn't get to your daily laugh describing the craziness of our government until noon. I look forward to it every day and there's nothing more I can say that hasn't already been said by everyone that's commented..you're funny, you're brilliant, and you make my day!
He swallowed a hornet for sure, but it's a whole nest! Murder is what has happened here, not a war crime and it wasn't the Admiral that made the call. I feel as if I am playing the game of Clue. As always, Michael, great writing.
Pete Hegseth has a long history of criticizing existing rules of engagement (ROE) as too restrictive and "politically correct," arguing for maximum lethality against enemies. He has advocated for the military to "untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt and kill the enemies of our country". This will not bode well for him if he is brought into court to answer for his role in the double tap!
Great factual writing with no spin, but also so fucking sad for the dead😢 innocent people. Or ones that haven’t had due process & then this Orange bastard lies about how he’s against drugs coming into the country as he pardons The King Pin Cocaine Smuggler trafficker🤬👿 It makes me sad & furious at the same time, because just when you think this Corrupt incompetent, immoral Administration can go any lower, it does🤬👿
You have the most insight into this administration, due to your background as an insider and a "fixer",but also your training as a lawyer and how his lawyer team has to spin the truth. Thank you for sharing your perspective in such a clarifying and descriptive way. You have become a great writer in the process! I look forward to your postings every day or whenever you are able!
It seems that Congress should also call Adm Holsey, who abruptly retired early. Seems he could see the plan for Hegseth to toss him and others under the proverbial bus.
So Trump and Hegseth screw up and an Admiral has to take the fall? Everyone in active and retired service should be screaming on the top of their lungs. The ones responsible should take the heat. We should all be incited to riot. When is enough enough? This administration is a complete disgrace. Michael every time I hear you say IF I WAS STILL IN HIS ORBIT, or IF I COUKD TALK TO HIM I go insane. No you don’t. This is not the Trump you remember. This man is far more viscous than he was and everyone can see it. Be glad you are out of it. You do wonders doing exactly what you are doing.
Michelle: I don't hear Michael saying "If I could talk to him," at least not recently. Michael seems to know he's beyond listening to those who aren't complicit or pure cowards.
Michael, you nailed the tell: “fog of war” is not analysis, it’s cover. It’s a phrase designed to blur chain-of-command accountability, dilute intent, and buy time while the story gets spun into “context.”
What makes this so combustible is the same pattern you’ve warned about for years: power without responsibility. The strongman pose when it plays well, the clueless bystander act the second there’s blowback. That is not leadership, it’s plausible deniability as a governing strategy.
If the relevant footage, comms logs, and ROE guidance show a second strike on survivors, the question stops being politics and becomes legality and command responsibility. “Fog” does not erase duty.

Absolute truth, Michael, as always.
“The fog of war”. Sure Pete. That’s your alcohol-abuse brain damage talking…..that’s the fog you’re seeing.

He said it to Don Lemon yesterday. I jumped out of my chair
