"MAGA: Making America Gullible Again"
Trump is surrounded by sycophants and enablers who are giving him the absolute worst advice imaginable. Time for him to clean house!
As I sit here, watching the chaos unfold in Trump's second term, I can't help but feel a twisted sense of vindication mixed with profound sadness. The man I once called my boss, my friend, the one I defended with unwavering loyalty, is now surrounded by sycophants and enablers who are giving him the absolute worst advice imaginable.
I see these new advisors ; people like Elon Musk, JD Vance, and Stephen Miller, using Trump to advance their own perverted agendas without any regard for the man they claim to serve. It's a dance I know all too well, having seen this before in Trump’s first administration. But unlike them, I at least tried to protect Trump; not just from others, but from his own worst impulses and mistakes.
Take the recent debacle with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy in the Oval Office. What should have been a diplomatic meeting to discuss rare earth minerals and continued support for Ukraine turned into a shouting match that would make a reality TV producer blush. It was so bizarre that SNL depicted it the very next night. Trump, egged on by Vance, berated Zelenskyy for being "disrespectful" and "ungrateful," completely ignoring the fact that Ukraine has been fighting for its survival against Russian aggression for years. It's a level of diplomatic malpractice that would be comical if it weren't so dangerous.
And let's not forget about the tariffs. Trump, in his infinite wisdom, has decided that slapping a 25% tariff on Canada and Mexico is the perfect way to "Make America Great Again." Because nothing says economic prosperity like alienating your largest trading partners and driving up the cost of goods for American consumers. Tomorrow we find out exactly how much as we sit on our daily cliffhanger.
The Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE as it's so affectionately known, is another prime example of this administration's misguided policies. Led by none other than Elon Musk, the man who thinks running a government is as simple as posting memes on Twitter. This dynamic duo has been slashing through federal agencies like a drunk barber with a chainsaw, leaving a trail of pink slips and broken promises in their wake.
Meanwhile, Stephen Miller, the architect of Trump's hardline immigration policies, has somehow managed to accumulate even more power in this second term. He's pushing for an expansion of presidential power and drastic cuts to federal agencies that would make even the most ardent small-government conservatives blush.
The saddest part? Trump doesn't even realize he's being played. He thinks these people are loyal to him. But loyalty to Trump has always been a one-way street, and these new advisors are driving down it at full speed, with no regard for the damage they're causing. Damage not just to Democrats; but to Republicans who supported him blindly.
As we approach the 60-day mark of his administration, reality is setting in harder than a bad spray tan. Grocery prices are soaring faster than Trump's ego after a rally. Gas prices are climbing higher than the walls Trump never managed to build. And his brilliant plan to achieve energy independence? Reversing every environmental protection put in place over the last decade. Have fun breathing…or will clean air be for only those who can afford a can of Trump MAGA Mist!
The very people who chanted "Lock her/him up!" are now finding themselves locked out of the American Dream they were promised. The coal miners who believed their industry would be revived are now watching as renewable energy continues its unstoppable march forward. The farmers who thought trade wars were easy to win are now struggling to sell their crops at prices that won't bankrupt them.
But here's the real kicker, the punchline to this cosmic joke is some of Trump's supporters are still clinging to hope. They're like gamblers at a rigged casino, convinced that the next pull of the lever will bring them the jackpot. "He just needs more time," they say. "He's fighting the deep state," “He’s fighting for us!”. It would be amusing if it weren't so tragically delusional.
So, as I watch this slow-motion train wreck unfold, I can't help but feel a mix of emotions. Anger at the damage being done to our country. Sadness for those who are suffering. But also, I'll admit, a certain satisfaction. Because I warned them all. I told them this was going to happen. And now, as the chickens come home to roost, I can only hope that maybe, just maybe, some lessons will be learned.
But who am I kidding? This is America in the age of Trump. We don't learn lessons; we double down on our mistakes and call it patriotism. So, to those who support our Constitution and democratic republic, stay active. Stay informed. Vote in 2026 Democrat straight down the line. And for those who supported this administration, remember, you asked for this. Every broken promise, every failed policy, every tweet-induced crisis; this is the America you voted for. And when it hits you in your pocket, when you can’t afford rent, groceries or gasoline, I’ll be right here to remind you that I warned you. Hopefully, before all hell breaks loose, Trump will realize that what he needs isn't more yes-men, but someone willing to tell him no.
