Trump is not merely mathematically challenged, or grammatically challenged…he is profoundly stupid, with a shiny overlay of weird charisma and propped up by inherited wealth. He is willfully ignorant and cruel, unread and uncaring, and very, very dangerous to us all.

Michael, I LOVE the way you write, always using wit, humor and truth to hit the nail on the head. You know him better than most, but I think what he’s figured out is that the people don’t care. They don’t do the math. They just hear “lower drug prices”. If they hear 3000%, they smirk and think “there he goes again…he’s so funny.” But the “lower” part is music to their ears. Thats the problem with him. EVERYONE gives him a pass on his hyperbole and ridiculous exaggerations like he’s a petulant 3 year old….as long as he doesn’t bite anyone, let him scream and yell all he wants. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Michael-

You've nailed why the math matters, but here's the deeper pattern: the impossible numbers are the strategy.

When Trump says "3,000 percent," he's not failing at arithmetic. He's succeeding at something else: making the actual policy undiscussable. Critics spend their energy fact-checking percentages rather than examining who benefits from MFN implementation, which loopholes exist, and whether enforcement has teeth.

This is extraction code in action:

Absurd claim (3,000% reduction)

Exhausted response (fact-checkers debunk the math)

Real mechanism proceeds quietly (actual contracts, actual terms, actual cost allocation)

You taught us this when you testified about "speaking in code." The percentage isn't meant to be believed. It's meant to dominate the conversation while consequential decisions are made in the fine print nobody's reading.

The question isn't "why won't anyone correct him?"

The question is: what's happening in the implementation while everyone argues about the math?

Who writes the "lowest price" definition? Which drugs get excluded? What enforcement mechanisms exist when companies don't comply?

That's where the extraction runs.

The circus is the cover. Always has been.

Mika-

Here are a couple of fun exclusions for you, all centered around diabetes, but not all are drugs. I think releasing insulin to the public as a free medication as the inventors intended just stuck in the craw of Pharma, so they and Congress have slow walked the cost relief for decades. Then there's blood testing strips, one use per blood draw. Medicare allows three draws per day (three opportunities to see if your blood sugar is in a safe range), but if you require four or more draws (per your doctor), you won't get that "overage" covered by Rx insurance. Oh, no. It might be covered by your Medicare Medical Advantage plan if your pharmacist will fill out the extra paperwork and have you or your Dr. sign it. 100 extra strips in a 90-day supply cost my mother over $575 this year. And don't forget needles. You know, those little items without which you cannot get the insulin into your body. They are on a different cost list. $116 for a supply of 84 pen needles. Also there is the tiny bottle of glucometer calibration fluid that used to come with a purchase of a new glucometer. $8.69 sold separately, this year. And the bilk rolls on.

Michael, as I was reading, I was thinking “why doesn’t somebody correct him since it’s so easy to explain…even if you are a stable genius.” I could hear your impression of Trump as somebody tried to simply explain what 100% means. “No, NO! YOU don’t understand! Quiet! QUIET!!! Don’t correct TRUMP, piggy!”

I’ve been saying it for years Michael… MATH is a universal TRUTH… when done correctly MATH CANNOT LIE…

I believe what bothers most SANE Americans is the facts & tRUMP supporters refused to acknowledge ANY WRONGDOING. We watch in horror as they STILL will gleefully keep drinking the Cult Koolaid without hesitation! Without question & without conscience! It’s extremely disturbing & even more infuriating to sit idly by waiting for a miracle from congress to do their fucking JOBS & ARREST THESE BAG OF DICKS ALREADY 🙄🙏🏽

You sound as pissed off as I am. I believe SCOTUS is partially to blame for this shit show we’re experiencing daily. The orange piggy should be impeached before our country suffers more harm.

I love it that I'm laughing out loud this morning with your daily perspective. The best part was when you summed it all up and then said that " at this point CVS becomes a hedge fund and insulin becomes a side Hustle!"

It's bad enough all the things that are wrong with Trump and they should have been impeached from day one but to think that basically he has the education and brain of a fifth grader is so pathetic to think that he's sitting in that gold studded tacky Oval Office ruining our country!

IMPEACH THIS MORAN!

It’s time 47 stops his gaslighting. He is the “low IQ” person :) Thx for clarifying the policy… which makes sense.

I figured out why he thinks he "aced it" on every cognitive test, like IQ. He thinks getting 100 on an IQ test is the maximum score. Hahahahaha really that must be it. Sad.

He always has to get his two cents in. I wonder if there is anyone out there that thinks that when they pick up their lower cost prescription that they will be getting money back just for picking it up? Can't you just see them arguing with the clerk and saying you owe me X number of dollars for taking this medication and I don't owe you anything. Those poor clerks having to explain that this medication only came down 20%. He lies about everything and having someone in the WH that can't do simple math is scary. Bet he can count his billions of corrupt money, though.

People are not as afraid of you if they feel you are stupid and thus lower their guard, but that is the Trump conman genius he has used so effectively all his life. He knows the math, but he also knows if he can entertain you, make you laugh, etc. he can also rob you blind.

Even the mafia can do nice things like donate to local church or koch brothers donating to science while the real motive and main efforts are not nice things.

Trump wears makeup as his every appearance is a carefully scripted art to deceive. He is laughing at everyone , enjoys making you miserable and making the rich who spurned him before capitulate now to keep their fortunes.

If americans were the moral leaders of the world the epstein victims would have had justice years ago. How much are we going to put up with?
