"Truth Is Rising Again"
When the lies collapse, voters don’t whisper; they revolt. From small suburbs to the big cities, the truth is finally rising, drowning out the GOP fearmongering that once held this country hostage.
Years ago, before federal agents knocked on my door, before congressional hearings, before the public dissection of my life and loyalty, I came across a Buddhist proverb that lodged itself into my mind like a quiet warning: Three things will always rise; the sun, the moon, and the truth. I didn’t fully grasp the weight of those words then. But when the Steele dossier surfaced in early 2017; unverified memos turning the political world upside down, I suddenly found myself sucked into investigations, innuendo, and a media storm that cared little about the difference between allegation and evidence.
It didn’t matter that the dossier was raw intelligence, not gospel. It didn’t matter that the loudest, wildest insinuations were aimed at damaging Donald Trump, not me. What mattered was that I became a character in a story I didn’t write. A story that grew legs, teeth, and cable-news chyron treatment. The truth didn’t rise then; it crawled. And it took years for the country to understand that the dossier wasn’t the Bible, and that the investigations that followed had their own separate facts, their own paths, their own conclusions.
But that proverb stuck with me. And today, I’m watching it play out on a national scale; not in the halls of the FBI or the corridors of Congress, but in places most politicians never bother to visit. Suburban cul-de-sacs. Forgotten town centers. Apartments where people count grocery dollars and wonder why their rent just jumped again.
And in cities like Aurora, Colorado.
Aurora; once a political afterthought, found itself dragged into Trump’s apocalyptic immigration narrative. A neglected apartment complex became his symbolic backdrop, a convenient canvas onto which he projected his latest fantasy: marauding Venezuelan gangs overrunning American neighborhoods. He even teased “Operation Aurora,” a mass-deportation fever dream he thought would electrify voters. Right-wing local officials happily played along, waving the same talking points like torches.
But here’s what happened instead: the voters took away their torches.
They threw out the officials who turned their city into a prop. They elected progressives; librarians, social workers, community organizers, people who spoke about grocery stores, trash pickup, safer streets, and basic competence. In a high-turnout race in a conservative-leaning city, the fearmongers didn’t just lose; they got trounced.
And that’s the moment I realized something profound: the truth is rising again.
Not in a grand, cinematic moment. Not from the mouth of a politician. But from the ground up, the way democracy is supposed to function.
Because here’s the truth Americans are beginning to see; whether in New York, New Jersey, California, Colorado, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Ohio, or the once-ruby-red suburbs turning bright, electric blue: Donald Trump’s entire political project is a lumbering, exhausted machine fueled by exaggerations, fairy tales, and a fantasy version of America that dissolves the moment you actually talk to a voter.
This is a man who claims he stopped eight, nine, maybe even ten wars; depending on which presser you catch him at. A man who tells the country he single-handedly reduced prices on everything, while families stand in supermarket aisles trying to stretch budgets like taffy. A man who swears the economy is “booming”; not for Wall Street, not for multinational corporations, but for “the little guy.” A man who promised; loudly, publicly, theatrically, to release the Epstein files in full.
Remember that one?
The promise that somehow evaporated the moment accountability came knocking?
This is the gap voters are now seeing. The distance between the slogans and their lived reality. And the wider that gap gets, the less they’re buying. The red-to-blue flips we’re seeing; from school boards to city councils to mayoral races, aren’t flukes. They’re a political seismograph registering the tremors of truth pushing upward.
Because the truth is simple: people want a functioning life, not a culture-war bedtime story.
They want city leaders who will deal with speeding cars, community violence without over-policing, neglected housing, skyrocketing energy bills, broken trust, and garbage piling up on the curb. They want normalcy. They want decency. They want a quality of life. They want to live in a community that isn’t being used to score political points on a national stage.
Trump underestimated exactly what Aurora proved: lies can travel far, but they cannot govern. Fear can get you clicks, but it cannot fix a single streetlight. Exaggeration can fill an arena, but it cannot fill a grocery store.
And when the truth finally rises; slowly, stubbornly, painfully, it exposes the rot.
Aurora’s voters didn’t ignore crime. They didn’t ignore immigration. They didn’t ignore the real issues in their neighborhoods. They simply recognized that scapegoating immigrants wasn’t going to bring them fresh food, lower rent, or a city council that listens. They realized they were being used as extras in someone else’s political film.
So they rewrote the script.
And here we are, watching as the blue tsunami rolled in; not because the Democratic Party suddenly discovered a magic message, but because voters rediscovered their own power to reject bullshit.
The sun rises.
The moon rises.
And the truth; no matter how long it takes, no matter how many lies stand in its way, always, always rises.
Trump can deny it, distort it, or drown it in spectacle.
But in city after city, in state after state, voters are proving the proverb right.
And they’re doing it one ballot, one election, at a time.

Yeah, I know; you’re tired. This shit is exhausting.
Guess what? Me too.
But I’ve spent the last 8 years throwing punches in the dark so truth could get a little daylight. And now I’m asking you to step into the ring with me.
Because if you’re still reading this, you already get it:
This isn’t just a newsletter. It’s a rally cry. A war drum. A line in the sand.
We are not passive observers of the downfall. We are the resistance. We call out the liars. We drag corruption by the collar into the sunlight. We say the quiet parts out loud; and we don’t flinch.
But here’s the truth: I can’t do this solo. Not anymore.
The storm is already here. We are standing in it. And it’s wearing stars and stripes like camouflage, preaching “freedom” while it sells fascism at retail.
So let me ask you:
Are. You. In?
Because this is not a scroll-and-forget read. This is a living, breathing, fire-breathing movement; and movements don’t move unless you do.
We need to be louder than spin, tougher than propaganda, and impossible to gaslight.
That takes more than clicks. More than likes.
It takes skin in the game.
So if you believe truth matters; if you’re sick of the bullshit, if you’re ready to stop screaming into the algorithm and start pushing back with purpose, this is your next step.
HERE’S HOW YOU PUT YOUR FOOT ON THE GAS:
Become a paid subscriber. Fund fearless, unfiltered journalism that hits back.
Share this with the loudest people you know; the ones who never sit down and shut up.
Build the community. Amplify the message. Be the damn megaphone.
And yeah; Founding Members? The first 240 of you will get a signed, numbered, limited-edition Substack version of Revenge. That’s not just a collector’s item. That’s receipts. Proof you didn’t sit this one out.
But let’s be clear:
This isn’t about a book.
It’s about backbone.
It’s about calling out the gaslighters and refusing to be played.
It’s about locking arms and saying, “Not. On. Our. Watch.”
You want to make a difference?
Then make it; right now.
Because if we don’t fight for truth, no one will.
But if we fight together?
They can’t drown us out.
Let’s be so loud, they wish we were just angry tweets.
Let’s be unshakable.
Unignorable.
Un-fucking-breakable.
Let’s go!

"They [Americans] realized they were being used as extras in someone else’s political film."
Exactly right, great post.
Project 2025 is a twisted script written by twisted people, and we are having none of it.
Now let's get organized, and write the script we want for "...ourselves and our posterity".
Bravo bravo bravo well said as always. I loved the proverb and so glad to see it's finally coming true. Getting Trump and his horrible regime ousted from our lives forever, can't come quick enough. And I think the nation now that they have found their strength will get rid of each one as they step forward to try and continue the b******* of making America great again. Watch out JD you're next.
