Very interesting piece. It gives me a little hope. Right now I'm desprate for it. I hope that the proud boys continue to disengage ..He is blowing up the country .. when I see what these thugs are doing to people on the streets of America I feel sick. Someone wrote in a substack about finding out who these thugs are. Do they have families are they your next door neighbor ? I would like to know. Thanks Michael.

I completely agree. This analysis gives me a little hope and makes me want to keep fighting and fighting harder. It makes me very disgusted, sad and angry all at once to see the treatment of immigrants and citizens. How disgraceful.

Your perspective is invaluable. That the Proud Boys are now making fun of trump is news to me! Great news!

I recently sang “Where have all the flowers gone” with some friends and suggest you find a talented musician friend to write new lyrics… where have all the proud boys gone.

You are so important in these times Michael. Know we are with you. You are fighting the good fight and keeping us all informed and engaged. We need and appreciate your perspective. It is getting very scary here in LA, California and I am white !!! How can we protect our brothers and sisters that are being targeted ? This is intolerable !!! Lets hope this fracture is deep and real so we can stop this racism in its tracks.

Dire warnings indeed. I feel them. I'll have my moments here and there, as we all will. But we CANNOT let this literal collapsing of the world around us, and all that we hold dear, and take for granted, be something we cannot FIX. WE ARE THE WARRIORS WE NEED. You're a hell of a good writer and this is another excellent piece. The cynicism you describe is its own kind of societal cancer. I've seen it in third-world countries in which I did a lot of business over the years. It's usually accompanied by a lot of corruption...at every level of the economy. Everyone from the cop on the beat to judges and politicians comes to believe that in a system so screwed up they are justified in skimming something off the top. I'm hopeful we can avoid that fate...

Thanks Michael. The Proud Boys, not approving of what tRump is doing, shocks the heck out of me. Maybe they believe in democracy after all. Probably not the kind of democracy that we believe in, but they may have friends that are being deported and maybe they don't want to be a slave to this person in the WH. If they are waking up, maybe, we can have hope that others will, too.

Michael— i personally felt yesterday SCOTUS ruling showed me that the 6 GOP Justices are traitors opening the door for a dictator do not be accountable by law. I just thought corporate media missed the subtlety, but I heard it loud and clear. Is that not what you heard? You think that this is some secret message that now they’re going to come around and set the law correctly with the under courts that they’re undermining? I sure hope you’re right.

Here’s my legal question..

CAN WE CLASS ACTION 14th AMEN SEC 3? Then if SCOTUS ignores this class action when it gets to the Supreme Court, we will be perfectly within our right to rebel. Is it legal to bring a class action against our own country?

His articles are well worth saving and assembling as an important testimony of the times. A collection of works that should stand on a shelf next to Thomas Pain's Age of Reason.

The birthright citizenship attack is failing. The 14th Amendment is unambiguous. Section One could not be more exact: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

The 2nd Amendment, otoh, is totally ambiguous.
