Real leadership would be to embrace the whole of North America as a common market, with shared principles and values and a deep pipeline of intermingled production capacity. Mexican farms keep our grocery shelves stocked with fresh fruit and vegetables even in winter. Canadian oil heats our homes and powers our automobiles,’its lumber builds our homes. Its nickel mines empower defense industry. Etc. We have a common adversary, China, with its artificially subsidized industry and IP espionage. The root of our fentanyl problem is with China’s production of its precursor chemicals and gleeful export of the same. With Mexico’s cooperation we could cut it off at the source before the cartels’ involvement. Thanks, Michael, for your strait forward parsing of Trump’s deliberate and malevolent ignorance.

Michael,

In the News spin over the past while I recall Rump ruminating about where these Tariff Funds were going to reside.

He made a reference to the IRS and then his solution, to create The ERS as in External Revenue Service. Since this would no doubt fall within the Executive Branch, He would be counting out those shekel’s to himself. Can you just imagine the gleam in his Eye!

Although we never will meet, Michael, you have been a strong presence in my life since we first learned of how Trump betrayed and attempted to destroy you. Whenever I am feeling overwhelmed, I think of what you have endured at the hands of that psychopath and am reencouraged. I never believed I'd see such a mess in our nation since I was born in 1948. But, here we are. Thank you from the depths of my soul for your strength and courage, both of which our nation must sustain.
