Daily onslaught of BS. I'm also currently reading (again) “They Thought They Were Free - The Germans” and while written in 1955, change the names and it could be the Trump regime.

These German, former Nazi citizens, STILL didn't know or believe in 1955 that Hitler was responsible and that they exterminated the Jews.

Wtf do we do? He doesn't even follow court orders but he sure does waste money on courts, appeals and more appeals. Who enforces contempt orders? P

We know he does not think we will become manufacturers; he only wants to break things and has no intention of fixing them.

Absolutely. There’s no way to bring manufacturing back. Companies don’t want to pay the wages and healthcare here. It would take years and years and robots would do the work anyway!

It was "foolhardy" to use a failed 19th century tool (tariffs) to address 21st century trade issues; and this mess highlights what you get when you value loyalty over competence.

Trump is destroying the world economy totally based on his own personal obsession with tariffs, along with co-conspirator Peter Navarro.

Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner saw Navarro’s book “Death by China” on Amazon. The title alone motivated him to put Navarro and Trump in touch. Navarro even fabricated someone he says was an expert source in his books.

Watch Rachel Maddow’s segment about it below (fast forward to the middle for this story).

Michael and Jolly, what about Project 2025? Isn’t what’s happening on purpose with their intention to destroy the country and democracy and us? Trump’s revenge could certainly be part of his motive.

They’re working with Peter Thiel and other billionaires behind the scenes and giving each other billion dollar government contracts. They’ve bought into Curtis Yarvin’s dark creepy ideology. Although it seems the tariffs are a pet project of Trump’s and Navarro’s.

Read The Arms of Krupp. What they’re doing is totally Nazi. But they all have different goals, it’s also Stalin , if we don’t stop them we are in real trouble. They are also bringing in South African “refugees “, what are they really doing here?

While listening to this you are only describing part of the issues…

I believe what Trump is trying to do is reduce costs of products produced from international countries. He will reduce the tariffs if they reduce the costs of these goods to Americans. If this happens he will look like a Star.

The one thing he didn’t think about is that with these tariffs, the American people pumped the breaks on buying products. Now the part that is really missing is that those international manufacturers are going to holding onto surplus devices, parts, etc…but, those manufacturers will find other countries to purchase those parts and devices…and because of this we will never get international companies to make anything for us again. It will be a long time before they will produce anything for America again.

This is the opposite of what Trump wanted and it’s a great duck you to him and the American people.

This is awful.

Doesn't it seem that 47 is also disoriented and forgets what happened yesterday? He has been reminded of things that he has said, and turned to reporters with, "I said that?"

In my opinion, it is multi-faceted why he is the person he is today. I agree with Jolly that he has seethed about all of those things that happened to him (of his own doing!) over that time period. No one ever applied personal accountability to him (which he calls "weaponization", except when HE does it). He has been empowered by MAGA, SCOTUS, and Republican sycophants. Even Democratic politicians assign him power by some of the things that carelessly say. Anything that feeds into his sense of aggrandizement and narcissism only fuels the flame.

Agreed that economy is the tie that binds! Some don't care about federal job loss (especially when 47 tells them they will be rich with all the savings!), others don't care about Veteran's benefits, Social Security, Medicaid, or immigrants. BUT inflation hits their purses that they clutch! I talk to Republicans in the family who don't see it- they may read an article, but it doesn't touch them. They know just a few people immediately affected. But once they are paying a lot more or see their savings diminish NOW it comes for them! Tariffs=Taxes. Tariffs=Inflation. Our forefathers didn't like paying more taxes, nor do we. Reverse (as Michael says) Robin Hood has come to take away from the poor and give it to the rich. Our common "cents" equal common sense!
