Wow. I’m curious - I know that you are asked a lot of questions, and perhaps this one as well. How did you find the mechanism to escape? And, I mean this with much respect, Michael - as I have grown to respect you immensely - but do you think that if that fat bastard hadn’t turned on you, you may yet still be with him, in a key cabinet position? The temptation towards power is a mighty pull. Most of us understand that, even if we won’t admit it.

Yes, to all the above. And let’s not forget the whole “assassination” attempt; he miraculously regrew the ear! It’s a sign!

Call me a conspiracy theorist on this next part, but how come this new pope already has his whole papal attire all tailored and ready? As a recovering born and raised Catholic with 16 years (!) of education from Catholic institutions, I sense either a “miracle” or a setup. I realize it’s the Vatican, and it’s “infallible,” so there’s that.

Anyway, both these outcomes leave me wondering. Call me crazy, but the new pope’s brother sounds evasive already, and he’s a Florida resident.

Need more ☕️

No conspiracy needed: yes he’s American but he’s also Peruvian. He spent most of his life being a missionary in Peru and his shtick is workers’ rights and social justice. It was these credentials and the fact that he’s held a high Vatican position with credibility that got him over the line.

Full-on pope mode, glad for the information. It’s great marketing when you think about it. In retrospect, Vatican City/Rome certainly knew Francis’s reign was coming to an end and had their ecclesiastical ducks lined up, so to speak.

Now you're being silly. It was in the papers that there were 3 size robes because they didn't know who the pope was going to be. They are in ROME! Do you not think they could have called the best tailors there to do a rush job? Yes, I am calling you a conspiracy theorist and I'm Jewish. The brother said he felt extreme pride. What are you talking about?

Well, thanks Robin… I did not read that, but I’m glad you informed me. That said, I’m am presently reading a book titled, “The Knights of Malta,” following my recent trip to that very Catholic island country. The subterfuge and brutal tactics historically and habitually used by the Catholic Church, both in the book including the Inquisition tells a very different story. And yes I know that was centuries ago. But being a woman of a certain age and having the background I have, it’s always good to be skeptical and to question everything about man made institutions.

I'm going to be 69 in a few days so I am definitely of a certain age. I truly know very little about how Popes are chosen except from the movies. I didn't watch anything on TV with this new pope. There has always been extreme cruelty in the Catholic Church, that I know. The Crusades. So much cruelty and killings between Catholics and Protestants during the medieval period (King Henry VIII-Queen Kathryn of Aragon-Queen Anne Boleyn and the wives and children and religion and complicated successions) until.they got to Queen Elizabeth I for 50 years. Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain were two of the cruelest Catholics and the parents of Kathryn of Aragon. . They were responsible for expelling all the Jews in Spain in the 1490s. That was a horribly cruel time to be alive. Every evil has been done on the name of religion. Every religion. Terrible. I have also travelled to many countries in Europe and I don't think there is a church I have not been to if I've visited and was on a tour. Even in the highest mountain someplace in Croatia, where I couldn't look out the bus window the height was so dizzying, and the road so narrow. One synagogue (the oldest in Europe in Dubrovnik).

Yes, to all you’ve written. I believe we can agree that all religions eventually tend toward abject control and then punishment for nonconformity. That is except when it benefits the religion. Circling around, we seem to get all jubilant whenever we have these events happen, especially after being accustomed the uniqueness of Francis, then hoping the next anointed one is as, dare I even say, “woke” as he was. Let’s see where all this goes.

I don’t sense any of this, Diane. More of the same, yes. I “predicted” on April 24 on my FB page that this would be our new pope. No conspiracy, just the inevitable white man among a handful of other contenders who are not white. I do not believe that the conclave knew who the next pope would be, going in. Rather, I think they chose the safest candidate.

No one ever lasts very long in the Trump administration; he has an 85% turnover of staff; virtually unheard of anywhere else.

He's only been in power just over 100 days and the musical chairs, sacking and insults, have already begun.

In Trump terms, Michael actually lasted a long time (10 years ?)

There is no accountability in this administration. Why should there be? He has everyone in office that could do something about it chasing his get rich dream. Is it working as well for them as it is for him? Just let just 10 percent of them loose their money and things could change because, I bet, they were told it's a sure thing, you will get richer quicker and nobody will be the wiser. Most of the American people don't have the money to buy, so we can rip them off, become the riches people in the USA and rule the world. Not so fast, Donnie, we may not have the money for your grifting, but we have something so much better. We have our voices, we have the drive to put you down, we have honesty on our side, not your lies, we have the will to fight for our freedom, for the Constitution and Democracy. That is something that you don't have. And fight we will, because our Country is worth it. Worth one hell of a lot more than what you are doing to it. God Bless

Each day it's just worse and worse. I never thought it was possible for me to feel the hatred I do. And what's more upsetting is that now we have the nepo-baby grifters. Like Steve Witkoff's son to name but one. And I just read that of course, the Saudis want the Persian Gulf changed to the Gulf of Arabia. It the least Donnie Two-Dolls can do for them if he and Jared don't want to be chainsawed and then shoved in a blender. I don't see an end to this peacefully. This crypto and Trump will be the end of us. And there is so much pain to come. People think this is it? He hasn't begun.

If someone you care about says that they are investing Trump meme coins, can’t we at least tell them it’s a scam and urge them to get out while they can? My granddaughter already lost $10,000 she doesn’t have this way. In two months, she won’t have a way to keep a roof over her head, and I haven’t got enough money to help her.

Michael, you are a really awesome writer!!! I love reading your work as much for your style as for the content. Seriously! I really want to read REVENGE. I'll check my library. I'm one of those dependent on a $1350 Social Security check every month, so I cannot be a paid subscriber unless I can get a job at 68 yoa. I just want you to know how much I admire your writing. As a lifelong prolific reader, I think I'm a good judge. Trust me, you deserve to be proud of your writing. I look forward to reading it regularly.

Call me naive, but I don't understand all this Crypto-Currency stuff; Trump issuing his own Crypto-coin and a special one for Melania (?) and now Crypto currency being considered some form of legal tender ?

It's like going back to the Medieval feudal system; where feudal Lords issued their own monetary system coins (mostly a coin showing their own profile; isn't that exactly what Trump did); levied taxes on anyone needing to cross their land and often simultaneously confiscated a percentage of goods coming across their borders, just because they could.

Trump administration Medieval style!

Worst is yet to come. Donald "The Beast" Trump is building a wall once again. Colossal tariff wall that is the beginning of the end for the system of down. At first the beast will pull the plug out of the global economy. The worst financial crisis of human history will pull a swarm of the banks underwater and the bank run begins. Then the beast will collapse a mountain of debt shattering the backbone of the monetary system causing a systemic risk to realize. Finally the beast will cast American citizens into a system slavery under the name of Ronald Wilson Reagan, just to "honor his legacy" count the number. After the destruction a new world order will be established in the US. And the Golden Age begins from the ruins of the world wide collapse. All of the system slaves will love it. No more cash - just digital transactions. No more traditional criminal activity. No more tax evasion. No more transactions without the "all seeing eye". Outcasts will hate the world without freedom, hope and privacy. To cover up the mess and distract the public by smoke and mirrors, the beast will engage in a war with Iran. Lies and deceit, corruption and decay, dancing on the graves will continue. Until; Black hole sun, won't you come, won't you come... I want to play a game. Time has come to opt out of the empire of filth. Live or die...

Huge differences now! Anyone remember "Billy Beer" created by President Clinton's brother during his presidency? Or that this same brother was forced to register as a foreign agent for Libya since he was trying to use the family connections for business? The situation was considered a scandal in my memory. But with Trump, family wheelings and dealings have been on display as assets. We outraged people need to speak out together.

Can you imagine if it was Barack Obama that said ""I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters," The Right would have went NUTS!! But because it was Trump---CRICKETS. Trump is a gangster of the highest level. The Republicans are totally okay with it. Business as usual in America. They normalized this kind of behavior, and it's destroying our country, and world order. How DO they sleep at night? I know it's cliche, but REALLY? HOW DO THEY SLEEP AT NIGHT?
