What we also need is for people to be examples of speaking the truth without making them wrong. We can be "right" or be in relationship. WE the people is learned as we go through our emotional developmental stages. If we are never held accountable or learn we can deal with feelings of guilt, fear and shame we remain a stuck in the toddler stage. This is the journey we all must take if we learn to CARE about the WE.

And include in this group Terry Real, the author of "I don't want to talk about it".

Good morning. So glad you don't sugarcoat anything. We all need to wake up. I don't want to lose the freedoms that we have taken for granted all of our lives. Get involved, keep informed and stay safe. Thanks Michael.

It’s not that I’m trying to push your book “ Revenge “ but I read it and have gone back several times to reread because it has given me a totally different understanding to Trump. I know a lot of people cannot afford your book right now your daily essays on Substack will be extremely important for history. You have an insight that no other has. I see it in everything you write it’s not just like all other journalism repeat of what Trump does it’s the most important part WHY . Your experiences are a key that will help us build to a better future

He talks about “homegrown criminals;” so is he deporting himself?

I was wondering the same thing

He has 34 felony counts to his name

So he should set an example and self deport to the El Salvador jail as an inmate.

Lead by example

Be more fun if the hooded ICE people would do it though

How soon before we have death camps? Either here in the U.S., or abroad like El Salvadore? MAGA folks would LOVE to staff death and slave camps! If the oligarchs get their way, they may bring back debtors prisons. Prisons will become even bigger business than they are now. Only much, much uglier. How soon before martial law?

If the administration is interested in deporting Home-Grown criminals, let us wee if he deports the maniac who torched the Governor's residence in PA. They won't do it for 1 reason, and we all know what that is!

Shameless, grandiose, thinking you are better than and not having a sensibility of the impact of ones behavior has on others is the epitome of an adapted/toddler who may be grown up physically but still has no clue who they are. The capacity for empathy lies in being held accountable when we are toddlers and throughout our emotional developmental years. This is hard for the parents who are emotionally immature to maintain loving and firm limits with the toddler. We all only grow out of being able to deal with uncomfortable feelings and increase our self-worth when we learn to recognize the impact we have on others. This is the evolutionary challenge for our times. Let me repeat the grown up emotionally immature bully will control the entire family and break things. They physically grow up and think their self worth is measured in what they can have, what they can own, who they are with and have no capacity to deal with the truth when it shows up in the mirror of the people they hurt. Focus on moving through the fear not collapsing into the wounded child and self worth will increase.

Unfortunately there is (kind of) a precedent from the UK, bastion of democracy. Shamima Begum left the UK as a teenage British Citizen to join ISIS in Syria having been radicalised on line. She married an ISIS fighter who subsequently disappeared and after the fall of ISIS in Syria, wanted to return to the UK. The British government stripped her of her citizenship and she is stuck in Syria.

So, not exactly like deporting US citizens to serve their sentences overseas, which smacks of rendition to Guantanamo but certainly a precedent for citizenship being conditional.

I like your pieces MC but (and I'm sorry if I've missed something that covers this), how does the spell that he has over people get broken. Will having fewer dollars in their pocket do it. It strikes me, looking from the outside, that the murder on 5th Avenue boast might still ring true for a % of voters. People in other countries are becoming more accepting of authoritarianism. What has to happen in the US for people to see that the emperor has no clothes?

Well we are going to have to find a way to stop them and keep them from pursuit of their goals to destroy democracy. If we don’t step up quickly and put them all at a halt. Then we will live to regret everything that is going to happen to this country. The ones that survive and can be strong enough to withhold the stress and strain will be the heroes that get us out of this mess. I think it is definitely time to start some insurrections. Please let’s do something!!!!🙏

Michael, A side note. I'm in CA and if it had been a couple of weeks lead time, I could have come to NY for the No Fear audience. Because of the time difference and work, I"ll have to find it on your Stubstack or YouTube. But consider me in your audience, appreciating, and grateful. I'll just be a little late to it all. Break a leg!
