We MUST petition influencers for our cause to STAND UP TO THE RIGHT AND CONDEMN TRUMP and his regime and start putting some real pressure on them where it matters most…$$$$$.

Does THIS Administration KNOW what diplomacy is? Do they know it is a REQUIRED element of this job? We have witnessed spectacle after spectacle, debacle after debacle in the Oval Office. The symbolism of the "Oval" is the hubbub of presidential activity. I don't believe that this once highly-respected place of important decision-making and transactions between our country's representative, the President, and foreign dignitaries should be reduced to a "dog and pony show." It has become a common occurrence these days to have Heads of State ushered into the Oval, camera lights turned on, a bevy of hand-selected reporters grovel and drool over 47, and then finally, an embarrassing scene ensues for the purpose of trying to bring these visitors to a wannabe dictator's knees. THIS is not the America I have known all my life, and we have lived through some less than desirable circumstances. But after that ignominious day in history known as January 6th, our voting public should have known better than to make the same mistake, only now armed with the foreknowledge of our recent sordid and sullied election history. I have mixerd feelings about your editorial today, Michael. I agree that trump's handling of the South African President was awful, embarrassing, and fact-free, but why didn't the SA Prez be more forceful and, knowing what trump is like, why didn't he have proof that this is simply not what is happening. Why didn't he refuse to meet in public but request a private meeting or not to meet at all? One of these foreign dignitaries needs to stand up to this asshole. Trump depends on no one standing up to him. He knows they are either too polite, too intimidated, or need something from him to do so. He takes advantage of the situation. And so far, no one has disappointed trump.
trump would never do a private meeting with them. He needs the cameras and mics to show how "great" he is. He needs to put people down and he would never know the truth if it hit him in the face. For me, all he showed was what an asshole he is and that he would never deserve respect.
What do you do with an individual who is a danger to not only himself , if there is any self left, but a powerfull dangerous force inserting himself into every humiliating situation it can?
