Just learned a Federal judge in LA has ordered ICE to stop carrying out immigration sweeps/raids & indiscriminately arresting people in Southern California. YES!!!
What I keep saying is these elected officials forget who they are working for. US, we are their employers, not trump!!! He doesn’t pay their salaries or provide them with outrageous insurance coverage!! They need to pull their heads out and start working for the American people. They were hired and they can be fired!!🤬

* The Price of Freedom: A Nation's Stand
My fellow Americans,
We stand at a precipice. The very foundation of our democracy, the principles that define us as a nation – freedom, justice, and the power of the people – are under siege. A regime has taken root that seeks to dismantle these ideals, to centralize power, and to silence the voices of ordinary Americans.
This is not a drill. This is not a partisan debate. This is a battle for the soul of our nation, and we, the American people, are the last line of defense.
To reclaim our democracy, we must face an uncomfortable truth: we must halt the engine that fuels this regime. We must, together, choose to disrupt the very systems it relies upon. This means a collective act of non-cooperation. It means temporarily stopping the flow of productivity that empowers those who seek to undermine us. It means, for a time, accepting financial pain.
I understand the gravity of these words. I know the fear and uncertainty that such a prospect evokes. Families will struggle. Businesses will face hardship. But I ask you: what is the cost of losing our democracy? What is the price of living under a system where our rights are eroded, our voices are silenced, and our future is dictated by a few? That cost, my friends, is far greater and far more enduring than any temporary economic pain we might endure.
Think of those who came before us – who risked everything, who shed blood and treasure, to establish and preserve this nation. They endured famine, war, and unimaginable sacrifice for the promise of a free society. Are we, in this generation, less capable of defending that legacy?
This is not about surrender. This is about strategic withdrawal of our energy and resources from a system that has become weaponized against us. By stopping our collective productivity, we starve the regime of its power. We deny it the resources it needs to perpetuate its control. We create an undeniable crisis that forces a reckoning.
This will be painful. There is no sugarcoating it. But we are a resilient people. We are ingenious. We will organize. We will support each other through community, through shared resources, and through the unbreakable bonds of our common purpose. We must prepare for this pain, knowing that it is the necessary path to a greater good.
The choice before us is stark: a brief, intense period of shared hardship for the promise of a free future, or a slow, agonizing slide into authoritarianism with consequences that will echo for generations.
Let us rise to this challenge. Let us stand together, united in our resolve. Let us choose freedom, no matter the cost. Our democracy, our future, depends on it.
I was in the live podcast and saw some Dems in the chat were getting sensitive about the criticisms regarding their Party. The criticism HAS TO come from within the Party in order for them to self-correct their course. I heard the interview with Jeffries on Don Lemon. He was not willing to endorse Mamdani. Would he choose disgraced Cuomo or Adams, both of who can be bought by tRump? Maybe Mamdani is not perfect but let's not get behind people from the past. I am an Independent who is working with Dems currently to fight for democracy but NOT being won over by them. Dem politicians are still not working together in a coordinated effort to move forwards. Some of them are standing up. Some are speaking out. One pops up here, and one pops up there. Then they do something that people DON'T like (like Newsom and Booker). We CANNOT WIN THIS THING if we have nothing to offer, if we are only AGAINST something but don't know what we are for. It's like trying to play a sports game and only use defense- you must have good offensive skills as well. THIS Repub Party does not fight fair, so we have to come up with better ways to combat this and then make a plan for united path forward. If we live in a house divided, we surely will fall. The Repub Party recently has been staying together, even if they secretly agree (and a few vote astray). The Dems are not- those politicians aren't even supporting each other. We must figure this out. Let's NOT let them win!
I have been Working Families Party for years now because of the way that progressive voices are marginalised and dismissed. (I love Bernie, my dream candidate team was Warren and Duckworth in that election cycle - BUT I had exact ZERO hesitation voting Democrat against Trump because he’s an evil wannabe dictator and I give a shit about the people and nature that would be harmed by him).
The expectation to shut up and toe the party line is corrosive, it’s funny to see those same democrats who dismiss progressives having no problem not getting behind the democratic choice of Z Mamdani..
I hear you and it's powerful, judges are awesome but 4-6 supremes are in his pocket... this may be my comment all day.. I wrote on Joyce Vance's site this AM... I may be totally wrong but.... : "... it's hard to visualize we can win by just "speaking to the choir". I wonder what groups out there with magas respect would stand by us that magas actually love? They are out there and if they are horrified by this they also need to stand up... you cannot tell me bikers, veterans, hunters and corporate dairy, cattle and produce farmers, even some police aren't questioning this ... if they stand/speak up more magas will too, we need to come together there is strength in numbers .... Don't let those children who were killed in Tennessee be forgotten, their blood on this regime's hands will stain forever."
