So sad what has happened in Texas. I wish that this would serve as a wake-up call to THIS Administration to realize the consequences of their actions when necessary systems are cut to alert us, to support us and to prevent or at least minimize destruction of life. What an oxymoron and contradiction in terms to claim to be pro-life and yet remove all of infrastructure we have created over the years (fraud and abuse???) to reduce the loss of life. Then, they took it a step further to actually create situations that directly affect human lives through harm (deportations, concentration camps, etc.). THIS COUNTRY has become the very s***hole countries that 47 decries and insults. He DID NOT get rid of the Washington "swamp" he likes to describe; he created a bigger and worse swamp, figuratively and quite literally in Florida right now! He admires those dictators who take it all for themselves and revel in what everyone else does not have. Jojo, the passion and compassion I hear in your voice says it all, and your points are excellent. He is the very worst of us. WHY is he still in office? HOW did anyone ever vote for him a 2nd and even a 3rd time? I can forgive the first- but the 2nd and the 3rd are almost unforgiveable (some would argue they ARE unforgiveable).
Michael, not only do you and your guests tell it like it is, you tell it with something that the Evil Orange and his minions will NEVER have: compassion and empathy for those who suffer. It is a sorry state when the lowest common denominator has its death grip on the decisions that affect us all. How did we get here? By normalizing violence, apathy, greed and corruption, thanks to the corporate entertainment and "news" outlets that have such a tremendous influence on the public at large. They are the evildoers' propaganda machine.
The wealthy corporate world is going to step in as heros to save us by buying up to privatize these wounded institutions. Deplorable.
