A shocking security revelation may have just handed America’s enemies a blueprint for targeting the president—and every president who follows him into office.
Michael, I agree with you. However, the people on the decoy plane should have been able to make the decision as to whether or not they should remain on the plane. Every one of them was in danger. If that plane was targeted and destroyed, many people would have lost their lives. The press, the Secretary of State, and civilians. Trump took his most trusted loyalists with him on his secret flight and left the rest vulnerable. A better plan should have been created and kept secret for everyone's protection.
I’m sorry, Michael. I just can’t agree with you. I really can’t believe that other foreign enemies couldn’t figure out secretive tactics used by our government to protect the president, to me the bigger question is, how do you put the rest of the none military personnel‘s life in danger.
More and more of the country would like to help Iran remove this toxic being of a president from our demise. I thought we are bombing Iran to kingdom come. Trump is so afraid of getting killed by them he has an anti drone unit with him when golfing. When you know you know
This regime has often been referred to as a “clown car”. Some say the Keystone Cops. All this to say you miss the point entirely (and I’ll explain.) Or is missing the point your point? BTW, Ai helped a lot with my response to you.
The scandal is not that journalists reported it. If a presidential extraction during a credible assassination threat could be filmed, reconstructed, and publicly documented, that major protective-security failure is the scandal! Who had the sight lines? Who obtained or released the footage, and why were movements not sufficiently compartmentalized? These are the questions that demand answers.
Blaming the press reverses responsibility. The Secret Service and military are responsible for preventing sensitive movements from being observable or leaked. And journalists are responsible for reporting an extraordinary security failure. Presidential travel already relies on Secret Service advance coordination with host governments and local law enforcement—so this should trigger an investigation and changes to the protocol, not demands for the public to ignore it - or journalists to bury it.
On one level I agree that these should be kept secret . However if they had leveled with the people on board Air Force one I think they would have honored national security . Don't say they wouldn't because you don't know that. The disgusting part is of course the morron lethal idiot thinks he's funny and says something like, yeah if we go down we would go down together . Smart ass .. ha ha ...And think about this who is leaking it's people in his own administration .. They probably can't stand him.
When Clinton was president a similar threat occurred and the people on board were briefed. It’s not impossible. For Trump it is. He doesn’t care about anyone else. And he’s a coward.
Let’s review how a real man behaves:
While the 9/11 attacks were still underway, President Bush demanded to return to DC against the demands of his security detail and advisors. He insisted that he give an address from the Oval Office, and he did that night.
That night they demanded that he leave and sleep in a secure location. He refused and slept in his own bed. When the Secret Service whisked him to the bunker in the middle of the night because of a false alarm, he went back to his own bed.
When viewing Ground Zero, he pushed his own security detail aside and climbed on top of the rubble with a bullhorn and gave one of the most effective speeches any president has ever given.
When the Secret Service didn’t want him to go ANYWHERE, he flew to New York and threw out the first pitch at the World Series. And he threw a strike. From the mound.
As for your cowardly, traitorous, worthless cult leader, we have examples of real men with real courage occupying that office. You can’t fool us.
I’m questioning if you allow yourself, Michael, to grasp all the facts and sides of situations you write about, because, like today’s, you have left out many important ones. It’s a “head scratcher!!”
Here’s my take: I think the leaker is someone who despises Trump. I despise him, but if I were privy to this information, I wouldn’t leak it. Assassinating him, or any president, would be an absolute horror. I’m sure we have all seen JFK’s murder either in person or on film. On the flip side, I do think those on AF1 should have been told; think of the loss of life had a plan been carried out. But now that the escape plan is known by all, they know what to look for in the future - and make no mistake, they’re taking notes.
I didn't know about this till I just read the article in the substack, also this one from another contributor: "WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Donald J. Trump routinely hides in a catering truck parked outside the White House to avoid talking to JD Vance, Secret Service sources revealed on Thursday."
I think the larger problem is that AF1 can be taken down with a shoulder held rocket. There is no built in defense for the two most vulnerable times, taking off and landing? That alone will encourage all types of terrorists. And it doesn’t take much planning to do so.
Why didn’t he go alone? Instead he brings the head of the DoD during wartime? He must have felt safe in a plane with no capabilities. Where was the nuclear football?
I think reporting only makes sense. Apparently, every prior landing and take off of every single flight were vulnerable. Now the process can be reworked for better defense.
Oh, if true that Trump has hidden from Vance before, that is a whole new level of cowardice.
Years ago, I pondered the subject of assassination. I think I was (not seriously) wanting someone to get rid of a world leader who was a real problem. It might have been Idi Amin. The other person in the conversation remarked that if that happens, then it is game on for people to assassinate any world leader, including the US President. So ended my musings. I hate President Trump, but assassinating him is not my preferred way of ridding us of his insanity. The same goes for the entire administration. We have a method of ridding ourselves of elected officials. It's called VOTING. I almost always side with the press having free speech rights. However, this time, I do believe that the safety of the President AND the safety of all the people who were on AF1 were paramount. Broadcasting our security protocols is very dangerous. Not just for the target, but for all the innocent people who are with that target.
He is a fucking moron. I am not a conspiracy theorist at all. I was watching when the first attempt failed. Frankly, I immediately noticed that the wrong ear was "bleeding". That, and the fact that in a few days, close-ups showed NO damage to the ear. I believe that was a fake attempt. As far as the AF1 incident goes, I can't get over how he completely disregarded the people on AF1. He makes me sick.
I heard about this a few days ago, I think what bothered me about it the most was that innocent unsuspecting journalists, flight crew, pilots, and others were sitting ducks and had no idea. If the Iranians hhad shot the plane down, ok great the President was not harmed; but the rest of those people were disposable, non-people. Thankfully nobody died but imagine how Trump would look if they had. Saving the President while not alerting the others to the threat seem immoral at best. I'm sure anyone of them would have preferred to find their own way home rather than be on airforce one and take the chance. The worst thing is, I feel the President would have used it as a PR moment, announce he is fine, probably G-d's intervention, while giving lip service to the victims' families. Seriously, next time, and I sincerely hope there is no next time, they need to treat all life as equal, especially those who are in care of the government on airforce one.
I could barely read this today.
I am tired of the one line paragraphs.
Can we not string more than one thought together at once?
The writing is getting more and more tired each day.
So the First Amendment is only for certain kinds of news now.
Maybe no more news on the Iran War.
It might endanger the lives of our soldiers.
No more news on what's going on with ICE.
It might jeopardize their operations.
See where this goes quickly?
How can anyone write like this?
Nothing like having AI do the work for you
Quite easily, actually.
You seem to have done a fine job of it.

To Trump everyone is expendable for him
Yeah he had his girlfriend Natalie Harp with him. Wonder how Melania feels?

Too many “what if’s” Michael. What if the original plane was delayed due to “repairs” or ANY excuse not to take off.
Here’s my take: I think the leaker is someone who despises Trump. I despise him, but if I were privy to this information, I wouldn’t leak it. Uff da, the doomsday clock sits at 85 seconds till midnight!

Joanne,
The Majority of Americans will be celebrating once the Trump Regime is gone.
People felt the same way about Hitler and his Regime. Mao, Stalin, Pol Pot, etc.
My Post was not done by Ai.

Yep, thanks for the reminder! Did someone suggest that your posts are AI??
Joanne,
Just following Larry!

But our President has already taken the first shot on more than one occasion making HE, HIMSELF a viable target of retaliation.

Same stupidity when it came out we were tracking Al Qaeda by their cell phones so Saddam Hussein was smart enough to not use one.
