As America considers going to war, two unlikely lawmakers demand debate. But Congress hides, paralyzed by fear and ego. Who decides if we go to war; Trump alone?
you're the best. Your understanding of the leverages of power and warnings of what will happen / could happen if we do nothing. In my opinion you're "Right On, bro!"
I'm not political expert. I'm certainly no war expert. I realize that there are always undertones simmering behind the scenes. But here's what I see from the Sunday armchair quarterback position. Israel, a small nation, is often under threat. Hamas horrifically attacked Israel almost 2 years ago. Of course, Israel needed to seek out its kidnapped citizens and retaliate for that attack but go too far in trying to eradicate the residents of Gaza looking for...a few Hamas? Next, we hear that Israel is b*mbing Iran, claiming that the country is close to creating nuclear weapons (repeatedly for at least a couple of decades). I'm still perplexed over WHO is the judge and jury on what countries should have these weapons anyway. I'll never understand that, how one or two (rogue?) countries can determine that, when we have NATO. Then to thicken the plot, have a nefarious U.S. president who appears to be goaded (flattered? leash-pulled) into joining Israel, after repealing a previously held deal that one of his self-claimed nemeses, "Obama", put into place. He doesn't consult Congress, though we were not under immediate threat, which a provision allows (America first? only?). Did he consult our estranged allies? Doubtful. His own appointed, unqualified and inept "Director of National Intelligence" recently stated that Iran was not close to achieving nuclear weapons. Then the president claims that it was a highly successful mission, whatever that means, without actual proof that there were weapons there, or at least the materials, and that they were totally destroyed. This could all be another ruse and a sham, and We the People would NOT know. Can someone help me connect the dots to make sense of all this? I'm not looking for what was "possible" or "potential". I'm looking at "probable", "evidential", "imminent" terms to draw an A+B therefore C line for me. Whereas I once was a skeptical realist, I now have become a distrustful, mistrustful non-believer, who can't take ONE person in this Administration at their word.
This is simply King Kong beating his chest. Let’s face it, we have a weak Congress. Chuck needs to go, Ken Martin is useless and Jeffries is a wimp. Please get them the hell out of there and let’s get leaders with guts.
IMHO, it's a bit more then that, now that the bombs have been dropped. Lev Parnas is reporting that the Iranians moved their enriched uranium to Russia a few weeks ago and that the facilities were long evacuated. So they're set back for now.
comparing this freakazoid to King Kong is insulting to KK....I think the orange diaper wearing reptile is more akin to bedtime for Bonzo....as for the rest of those Dem. congressional clowns...I say put them all on a barge and float them out to sea.
A spot on and inspiring plea Michael. Who, among members of Congress, or even outside, are up to the job do you think? Ignore age and gender. Go for clarity, courage, and commitment as shown by Bernie and Jasmine.
Good morning Michael. We've been wondering the same thing. Where the hell are they. It's not surprising that the asshole acted before consulting Congress. He thinks he is the grand ruler of the world, but he's nothing more than an ignorant man child. A bully. But why aren't our supposed leaders in Congress doing anything at all???? Our poor military is at a dangerous risk because of this whacky moron. DO SOMETHING! in the meantime we will make calls. We will protest. WE THE PEOPLE! ✌️❤️
More unacts from our Congress. Where are the real people? The people that were elected to do their job? Most of them are robots sent in to do trump's work, to Not do the work of the people.
As always Michael, your words aptly convey the message that we are all living through. You have a better understanding of the importance of their work than they do. I am grateful for your diligence in your effort you have shown to keep us all in the loop. Safe journey.❤️🇨🇦
I thought Trump engaging in an Illegal Act of War would finally be the catalyst for Dems to beat the doors down in Washington, balls to wall, go time. Once again- only stern statements from Schumer and Jeffries awaiting to understand if the attack was successful. It was not successful, it’s one of the ultimate betrayals of our Constitution and should be treated as such. Call your congressional representatives now. If he thinks he can get away with this, who knows if Greenland, Panama , Canada or any other country he wants to control is in his crosshairs.
Democrats--Chuck Schumer and the like-- are unable to find their voice because they are all over the place responding to Donald Trump instead of articulating a plan that good-hearted, patriotic Americans can relate to.
Thank you. Always thoughtful, clear and powerful.

Well said, Michael!
Thank you Michael! Yes, Congress has been MIA, but Trump is SUPPOSED to inform them. He's such a fucking asshole.

But WHERE is the evidence of an IMMINENT threat? Imminent isn’t months or years down the road.
In Trump's head.
I think we're already involved in another War, Michael.
Well now, it's too late. Congress has failed. 47 was played. You keep saying he is smart. Not smart enough. In my opinion.

I am pretty sure the seats in Congress are filled with cardboard facsimiles of the members. The actual members have checked out.
As always Michael, well said.
